Welcome to the TRIBELET

We are so glad you here!! Here’s a little bit about us and how things work. Make sure to introduce yourself in the comments!!

Tween Blog Guidelines

To keep you safe on Tween You and Me, we have to have guidelines. When everyone follows them, the blog stays focused on fun and friendship and figuring out who we are in our Lord Christ.  😊

IDENTITY GUIDELINES

  • Please pick one screen name and stick to it.  Most girls use their first names but if you’d rather go with a nickname that’s fine.
  • Once you’ve picked your screen name, only use THE SAME email address every time you comment. If you don’t have your own email address enter your parents’.
  • Do not let anyone else use your email address to comment.  If the same email address is found with two screen names you may be blocked from commenting.
  • Don’t give specific information about where you live. You can share your country or major part of the U.S. (Northeast, Pacific Northwest, etc.)
  • Please don’t give your last name or your age in a comment.

COMMENT GUIDELINES

We LOVE comments. On every post we ask a question in red. Please feel free to join in the conversation because that is why we are here.

  • Please limit your comments to the topic in the post. The exceptions are prayer requests, encouragement for each other, or suggestions for a future post. So that “Tween You and Me” remains a safe place for you to express yourself and get encouragement and support, we stick to the following guidelines. Trust us– they work.

• It’s okay to comment on someone else’s comment, as long as you stay on topic. Stay away from lecturing, preaching and judging. You get enough of that in your life, right?

• When you ask for prayer for someone, it’s best not to mention the person’s name or give a lot of personal details, especially if that person also comments on the blog.  We try to respect everyone’s privacy.

• We respect each other’s differences of opinion. Any time we disagree with one another, we do it in a loving, tactful way. Comments like, “That was stupid,” or “You are rude,” will be unpublished and the commenter will be blocked until we’re sure she understands the rules.

• Please do NOT include any links, even to your own blog, in your comments.

• We try to keep advertisements and other spam from appearing, but if it does, just ignore it. Do NOT click on any links in those comments!

• We do have a list of screen names and email addresses of everyone who comments on the blog.  If there are any inconsistencies, those girls will be blocked from commenting until we can clear them up. Again, the email addresses will NOT be used for any other purpose except keeping you safe on this blog.

Welcome!!! We are so glad you are here!!! Tell us three of your favorite things as a way to introduce yourself. And let us know if you are new here. If not, how long have you been a part of the TRIBELET?

If you have any personal questions you want to discuss, you can always email us at tribeletelder@gmail.com.  Tween You and Me is a great community and we want to keep it that way!

Blessings,

Nancy, Leslie, Hannah and Asher

    • Well, for one, you need to pray for him. You can shine the light of Jesus to him. Right now, I guess, just be a friend. 🙂 You can talk about Jesus and let him know that you are a Christian. Just shine the light of Jesus and pray. Remember, prayer does change things. He may notice that you act different from other people that are Christians. He could become a Christian. Just shine the light of Jesus, pray, and maybe talk to your parents about it too. 🙂 Parents are great advise givers.

Here are some tips: If you know something isn’t spelled right*, you can right click on it, and a list of words you may have been trying to spell should come up.

If you don’t know if something is spelled right, you can Google it and get the definition.
        Hope this helps!

  9. Question, I get anxiety and it has put a big damper on my life. I want to go to social events but if I do I get really bad anxiety. I’ve gotten ok with my anxiety with the help of my mom but it’s just not getting better enough for me to notice a difference. It as started to effect me going to church. It is very hard to sit through church without having really bad anxiety and I just want some help. What should I do?

    Like

    • I used to have anxiety too but, for different reasons. There is a verse in the Bible that is really wonderful and helped me. It is 2 Timothy 1:7 , ” For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power, love, and of self-control.” There is another version that says of sound mind. Remember, that God has not given you fear. Also, in the Bible it also says that perfect love casts out all fear.

  15. Hey there! I’m new here and I am so happy to be here! I first came across Nancy Rue when I picked up You! at the library 3 years ago. Since then I’ve read You! 5 times and also read a lot of Nancy’s other books and I love the way she writes and how inspiring & encouraging she is and how well she understands tween girls. I found this blog and was overjoyed and super inspired and encouraged by everyone on here and grew even more in the faith! I like horses, writing and art.

  16. Welcome, Hannah!!! I’m so glad you’re here ❤ I have read Ms. Nancy's book multiple times as well! Have you read the Bullying Trilogy? They are VERY good. I am a huge horsey person too 🙂 Have you ever taken lessons?

    Like

    • Hey Jenna! I tried to read the first book of the bullying trilogy a couple years ago and cried my head off because I felt so bad for Ginger and then stopped reading it. But now that I’m older I’d love to try to read it again, I’ll reserve it at the library asap. It’s so cool you love horses, too! I take lessons every Wednesday. Have a nice day!

      Like

  17. Yeah, I understand! It is very hard to read about bullying… It gets worse before it gets better. But do read them because the last book is so amazing and it puts bullying into perspective because it is from the bully’s point of view. I have read the last book at least 5 times.

What breed/color of horse do you ride? What have you been learning?

    Like

    • I just reserved it from the library, yay! I ride an american quarter horse named Classy, she is sassy and sweet, her favorite food is ice cubes and she loves going way too fast! She is bay color with a white face. I have been working a lot on posting trot and sitting trot (I ride English) we’ve also been doing a lot of trail rides. I will be cantering as soon as I can get more control over Classy. Do you ride?

      Like

  18. I ride a Quarter Horse trained in Western Pleasure. His name is Chip and if I remember right, he is 15 something hands. He is a sorrel 🙂 I went to my cousin this May (she does barrel racing) and even though she rides Western, you have to post on her horses because their trot is choppy. So I know how to post from riding her horses and now I am working on sit trotting a Western Pleasure horse! Quite different 🙂 Have you ever ridden Western?

    Like

    • I used to ride western at my friends house on her horse a while back, though I hardly even knew how to sit a trot, so not much. Western pleasure must be so fun, a woman in my class just got a western pleasure horse and its gait seems so relaxing. Chip sounds like a very cute horse! What is he like? Classy, as I said, is very sassy, but she can also be very affectionate, she hates bits and especially the girth (she’ll fill her stomach up with air) one time she cantered without me telling her to and I flew on her neck, not very graceful, that’s for sure. Hope you have an amazing day!

  19. Hi. Sorry I haven’t talked much. I need a little bit of confidence and lot of pro tips for 7th grade. 1. A Dude Likes Me And I Can’t Get Him Off My Hair. 2. Studying Tips. 3. Lots Of Friends (Even If You Are On Line.) I need help. Can some of you post some tips.

    Thanks,
    Kel-Kel

    • Hi Kellie!
Don’t worry about talking to little, or to much! ❤
I'll try to help with number one! I'm going to assume, ( unless informed otherwise) that this guy is annoying you. I can sort of relate, but not really, because I'm friends with the guy that flirts with me. (I'm just friends with him, anything more would be inappropriate for a 13 year old!)

Tips: If he is the "Class Clown", do not tell him to stop, (as long as he is messing with your hair, or something harmless like that ) it will only encourage him. 😉

You can ignore him, or just simply say "please stop". Try not to tell him to stop in front of a bunch of people, but DON'T go anywhere with him in private, for safety's sake!

I'm sure you've heard all of these tips before, so I'll keep thinking! 😉 PS, I talk a lot! ❤ 😉
Also, you don't need lots of friends, as much as true friends. I have four good friends, + all of you girls on the blog!

  20. Kellie – Boys are sorta a riddle, aren’t they? On this blog, Ms. Nancy wrote some posts about boys. You should check those out 🙂 They start in February 2016. Do you know how to get to older posts? Another thing is, keep in mind that this boy has feelings and that he is a kid just like you. Just because he is annoying doesn’t mean that you can be mean and snarky. Kindness is ALWAYS your best approach ❤ Treat him like a child of God and talk it over with an adult you trust.

Studying tips? I am homeschooled but I still have to study! Math is a downer for me so a couple things I do are, get it over with by doing it early on. (that might be hard if you have a specific period) turn on focusing music (classical is probably one of your better choices) try going to a low activity spot (not as many distractions) and switch it up a bit. If you are working on homework and if the weather permits, go outside! Switch up your surroundings 🙂 It can bring (for me anyway) a freshness to my mind which we want when we are studying. And most importantly, pray for wisdom and guidance 🙂

God has amazing plans for you!

  21. Yes!!!! I think it’s my favorite because you get to see redemption in the story. I would love to know what happened to Riannon and Heidi wouldn’t you?

    • Yes! I would LOVE it if there was a 4th book! I’d love to know what happened to them, too! If Nancy did continue it do you think she would go in the order of Tori, Ginger, Kylie again or do it from another charectar’s view, like Shelby’s?

  22. My guess is, she’d probably write it from a different person’s “angle!” I hope that makes sense!!! Do you think you’ll re-read them or move on to a different series? You said you like horses right? Well, there’s a great Christian series that I love! ❤ It's all about Jesus and Horses! 🙂 They're the Sonrise Farm Series. I started reading them when I was around eight but they didn't really "pull me in" so I stopped. Then a few years later I started again and they are amazing! Now I've been reading them for a couple years and they (along with Sorry, I,m not Sorry) have become my favorite books to read 🙂 But again, if you start them, you've got to read them all because that last book (#4) is my favorite!!!
    HAve a Blessed day!
